Richard Simpson, the Director of Plymouth Chimney and Flue Specialists Ltd, established his business in 1990. The company was originally incorporated as Plymouth Chimney and Flue Specialists Ltd (PCFS LTD) in 1987; however, we now operate under the name South West Fires & Fires (SWF&F).
About Our History
Richard has been working with heat-producing appliances, chimney repairs, and chimney linings for over 40 years. In October 2009, we opened our Fireplace Showroom, known as SWF&F, which operates under the trading name of PCFS LTD. From this location, we provide our services across Devon and Cornwall, including the Installation of Wood Burners, Multifuel Burners, Gas Fires, Fireplaces, Electric Media Walls, Electric Fires, Fireside Accessories, Chimney Linings, and associated building work related to these installations.
Our two teams are HETAS-approved for solid fuel installations and Gas Safe-approved for gas work. Both teams have developed into highly skilled installers and play a crucial role in maintaining our excellent reputation through their outstanding installations.
About Our Team
Richard’s wife, Susan Simpson, serves as the company secretary and has been working at SWF&F since 2009, where she handles customer service and administrative tasks. Their two sons, Luke and Alex, joined the team before the shop opened after leaving school. They quickly became team leaders, specialising in solid fuel and gas installations, along with the associated building work.
Currently, our teams consist of Luke, Shane, Anthony, and David. Luke primarily focuses on gas installations, while Anthony is our dedicated HETAS engineer. Mikyla, Luke’s wife, assists in the shop alongside Susan and also manages bookkeeping. Both Mikyla and Susan are essential to the smooth operation of the business and to providing great customer service.
